The result of the autopsy conducted on late Ronke Shonde who was believed to have been killed by her husband, Lekan in a domestic spat might have just vindicated Lekan.
Lekan was accused of beating his wife to death when her lifeless body was found in their Egbeda home with their two young children. Subsequently, Lekan took off and was on the run for 3 days before presenting himself to the police upon which he was taken into custody.
Lekan had repeatedly denied being culpable fo the death of his wife and the result of the autopsy might just be proving him right.
According to Vanguard newspaper, the autopsy report revealed that Ronke Shonde did not die from the violent marks on her face, rather she died of respiratory seizure as a result of water in her head and some other injuries.
The autopsy was carried out by a pathologist, Dr Shoyemi at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.
With the new found information, the detectives at Panti police station will have to continue with the next line of investigation which some sources have speculated would be to assess the mental health of Lekan Shonde.
