Following Nigerian Military’s seizure of a Russia-made Antonov plane heading for Chad Republic, it’s been revealed that the aircraft was loaded with two sport utility vehicles, choppers, AK 47 rifles, and other weapons.
The plane, which had six crew members was intercepted between 9.00 am and 10.00 a.m. at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano State, by security operatives on Saturday, December 6.
The aircraft reportedly developed a technical problem which led security operatives at the airport to suspect that it may have illegal items on board.
Meanwhile, the military has launched an investigation into the incident and diplomatic means have been employed to unravel the mission of the aircraft, its origin and destination.
