Sometimes I wonder what Nigerians did to offend GOD so much to warrant this monster called PDP?
– “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?” Matthew 7:15-16
– “And when it is said unto them: Make not mischief in the earth, they say: We are nothing but ” TRANSFORMERS”only. Are not they indeed the mischief-makers ? But they perceive not” Qur’an 2: 11-12
Ever since the G-34 conceived and delivered their illegitimate child, the PDP, Nigerians have been subjected to all sorts of evil by this demon of a child. From 1999 to date, it has been from one disastrous government to another, with each one competing to outdo the other in the magnitude of their crimes against humanity at levels we have never witnessed in this country. The PDP has destroyed everything in its path like a plague, from us that are being “ruled” by them, to the land, our resources, down to their card carrying members. Many a good man has joined them but later got turned into an overnight criminal. You can rest, assured that they will always bring out the devil in you and turn you to “one of them”. From our experiences with them over the last fourteen years, I can only describe the PDP as an illegitimate child born with an ailment.
Just a couple of weeks back, President Jonathan granted an interview to CNN’s Christiane Amanpour from Davos, during the World Economic Forum. With all the hype before the interview, I intentionally refused to watch it because I had an inkling about how it will end. Just as expected Mr President did not fail me as he faced the world and lied, the heat it generated made me to watch that interview afterwards, and you could see in Amanpour’s eyes, how she pitied Nigerians for having such a president.
He has consistently belittled the office which he occupies, and with every thing he does, makes a mockery of the office of The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Within that same period, Madame Oby Ezekwesili accused the government of mismanagement of $67bn (About N10 Trillion) in excess crude account from OBJ’s government to that of Ebele and called them for a debate, and what did the government do? It quickly sent one of its “Jonatharians”, Doyin Okupe to distract us from the substance of the accusations, and did not in anyway factually refute her claims. For the PDP, the motto is always attack first, then do damage control later. As if these aren’t enough reasons to give one a fatal heart attack, the N27bn pension thief was given a 2 year jail term or a fine of N750,000. Lord have mercy!
In case you have missed it, N5bn has been earmarked to rehabilitate commercial sex workers in Abuja alone not to mention the N4bn to build a house for the First Lady and another N7bn to build a City Gate in Abuja. For a country that regularly collects treated mosquito nets from foreign donors and is still struggling to fulfill the Millennium Development Goals target this is indeed shambolic, stealing in Billions is now the order of the day with this administration.
Sometimes I wonder what Nigerians did to offend GOD so much to warrant this monster called PDP. From Obasanjo’s eight wasteful years of mismanagement, corruption, total disregard for rule of law and so on and so forth, with nothing to show in all his tenure, but GSM (a standing ovation and a thunderous applause for such a groundbreaking achievement) to the late Yar’adua’s era that was moving S-L-O-W at snail’s speed, down to the current administration. President Jonathan has totally overhauled the concept of looting so much so that I think a new word should be created to replace looting as a result of the gazillions that he has embezzled in such a short period of time. All these did not end with these presidents, it is so widespread to the governors, ministers, right down to even a Councillor. If we do not put a stop to this illegitimate child, this plague will end up infecting the 160m people of this potentially great country.
Lest I forget, the two verses from our two Holy Books aptly capture the situation on ground. In Matthew 7: 15-16, God is merely telling us to judge people by their actions. We have seen them for 14 years, we have seen the fruits of their labour and we are totally disgusted by it. We must obey God and throw them and their ilk out. In the Qur’an, Allah told us many years ago that there will be a set of people who will come and claim to be righteous promising to transform our fortunes but in reality they are nothing but mischief-makers hell bent on causing pain and anguish. Ladies and gentlemen do these verses not capture the PDP in the past fourteen years and what it stands for. God has spoken, we must also be wise enough to understand his speech and ask for guidance to make better choices in 2015.
In all honesty, I am just tired, I am mad, I am furious and I am shocked beyond belief. No country on earth can survive such constant bombardment of looting like we have done. It is up for us to dare to make a change and give another set of people a chance. We cannot continue to turn a blind eye to such excesses. Once again, the opposition must answer the clarion call, to organize and not agonize. They must be ready for 2015. They must ensure that their manifesto is a workable one. One that is capable of changing the fortunes of Nigerians for the good in the shortest time possible.
God bless us all, and may He also save us from the evils of this illegitimate child, PDP!
