Everybody who knows Reno Omokri knows he is a proud critic of PMB’s administration. He was President Jonathan’s social media manager. And even though GEJ is no longer in office, Reno Omokri continues to act as his voltron.
Unfortunately, President Buhari’s government has made it all too easy for Reno to slam criticism after criticism. Sometimes the criticisms hold no water. Sometimes they are Grade A, like this one below:
Ghost President, with ghost achievements fighting ghost workers with an EFCC that goes after his ghost monies in apartments owned by ghosts.
— Reno Omokri (@renoomokri) April 26, 2017
It would appear everybody else on Twitter NG is conversant with Reno’s day time job except the EFCC’s handler and that’s a shame.
Reno it's your prerogative to disagree with a public official, an institution or even the President but that office must be respected. (1/2) https://t.co/Z1bMJDhqRp
— EFCC Nigeria (@officialEFCC) April 27, 2017
You may find yourself in that position someday and the least you would expect of anybody is respect. (2/2)
— EFCC Nigeria (@officialEFCC) April 27, 2017
First of all, when did @officialEFCC don the toga of Buhari’s attack dog? It used to be that the handle was good for jokes, clapbacks, whistleblowing and ‘uncovered’ monies, and that was great. It was citizenship engagement like we hadn’t seen, so we lapped it up. Now, this?
Secondly, this whole respect for the office dogma smacks of that time a certain governor told students whom he’d kept home for over 8 months that the least they could do is respect him. Is this a Nigerian thing, this obsession with “respecting the office”?
[Did you miss]: “Disgraceful Ajimobi is everything a governor should never be”
Reno replies:
My dear EFCC, please see below. I wish you gave this advise to both President @MBuhari and @elrufai! pic.twitter.com/6qUC6UIcKB
— Reno Omokri (@renoomokri) April 27, 2017
Nigerians react with swift condemnation. EFCC officially losing the plot.

The organization EFCC shouldn't be responding to opinions & personal tweets from citizens from it's official handle. That's not right.
— Temi🔝 Ajijola ✈️ (@drteepie) April 27, 2017
If you claim to be independent and do not abuse your power, let people tweet in peace. Responding to people's personal opinions isnt ur job
— Temi🔝 Ajijola ✈️ (@drteepie) April 27, 2017
The handler of this handle must understand organizations don't have emotions. People do. Are you responding to Reno as yourself or the EFCC?
— Temi🔝 Ajijola ✈️ (@drteepie) April 27, 2017

Has he committed an economic or financial crime by that tweet? Or why have you assumed the role of the National Orientation Agency? https://t.co/zG3VMau6qw
— Tomide Akinribido (@MrTomide) April 27, 2017
Financial crime commission handle jumping on tweets to teach respect. Wetin person no go see.
— E (@Em3kaE) April 27, 2017
The EFCC handle has become a lifestyle coach. What a time to be alive https://t.co/5pOvSnytnz
— Ilemona (@I_Am_Ilemona) April 27, 2017
Whoever is handling @officialEFCC is wasting the Oil rent from the Niger Delta set aside for Online media in the EFCC Budget.
Total Waste.
— Politrician (@Franeb) April 27, 2017
It's time to reevaluate why you are here and let us know by way of thread so we can respond accordingly https://t.co/RyGFYMmS4g

You people's govt handle has turned into attack dog oh. https://t.co/laE9b9dwtc
— Her Fokken Majesty 🥰👑 (@cremechic11) April 27, 2017
😂😂😂 baba is frustrated that his efforts on twitter are not replicated in real life.
— Edu Montee (@edumontee) April 27, 2017
This turned into an extended sermon:
You people's govt handle has turned into attack dog oh. https://t.co/laE9b9dwtc
— Her Fokken Majesty 🥰👑 (@cremechic11) April 27, 2017
You once alluded to misogyny from this Commission. Your submission was not only wrong but quite unfortunate (1/4). https://t.co/D2FimQyc1e
— EFCC Nigeria (@officialEFCC) April 27, 2017
Calling on the citizenry to please respect members of the Nigerian Senate and the office of the number 1 citizen is not an attack. (2/4) https://t.co/D2FimQyc1e
— EFCC Nigeria (@officialEFCC) April 27, 2017
We all must learn to process information properly and not make myopic inferences. (3/4) https://t.co/D2FimQyc1e

We implore you to actually follow us so that you don't form opinions off screenshots from blogs. #WeFightForYouStill (4/4). https://t.co/D2FimQyc1e
— EFCC Nigeria (@officialEFCC) April 27, 2017
Looks like the EFCC really believes this narrative of “respect”.
https://twitter.com/Whistleblowerrs/status/857580501640638464
Please show some respect to the members of the Nigerian Senate. A person is only guilty on their own admittance or when a court says so. https://t.co/Qevji7kJVx
— EFCC Nigeria (@officialEFCC) April 27, 2017
Does 'On their own admittance' include @OfficialEFCC keeping them in a dungeon till they sign whatever undertaking you compel them to sign? https://t.co/GSTBkGwLnd
— Mr. Aye Dee (@MrAyeDee) April 27, 2017
Whether the incumbent, the former or the next, we can all do better in respecting the highest office in our land.
— EFCC Nigeria (@officialEFCC) April 27, 2017
Puzzling.
It wasn’t so long ago @officialEFCC threatened someone with an “invitation”.
Which makes us wonder: what’s going on here? Has the EFCC handler finally morphed from a handler who has no face to the face of Buhari? Is this a revelation of its true face and intentions?
We wonder what the EFCC handler will say about this tweet below:
A President, poorly in health
And ergo/thus poorly in wealth
Has sought to conserve
His lifespring's reserve
By governing fully in stealth— Tex (@TexTheLaw) April 27, 2017
Perhaps it’s time for the EFCC handler to take a cue from @cremechic11
@officialEFCC let me speak to u in a language u clearly understand better!
— Her Fokken Majesty 🥰👑 (@cremechic11) April 27, 2017
Since you lack the wits to put up a credible fight against corruption, at least have sense in communicating with people!
— Her Fokken Majesty 🥰👑 (@cremechic11) April 27, 2017
And please note that you bring yourself and the office you represent disrespect by trading words with people and harrasssing them!
— Her Fokken Majesty 🥰👑 (@cremechic11) April 27, 2017
And please GROW UP!
Or at least get an adult to manage your social media account!
— Her Fokken Majesty 🥰👑 (@cremechic11) April 27, 2017
Incompetence is a commonality that ravages the whole spectrum of the workforce. And it's not unexpected. Just take a look at the leadership.
— Charles the 1st (@9jaBloke) April 27, 2017
Now we think Imoh was right: @officialEFCC should stop with the citizen engagement altogether since it does not understand the effect of descending into the arena.
How's anyone gonna take us seriously if the twitter handle representing our most important agency is run by a Twitter honey with lame jokes?
— Big Cuz (@imohumoren) April 13, 2017
Just because a few people think you're funny doesn't mean you should overdo it. Don't get high off your own supply https://t.co/2Hk79JfA8n
— Big Cuz (@imohumoren) April 13, 2017
Finito.
