57 years after Independence, Nigeria is how it is because we the people can’t be bothered to fight for better. We have normalized the absurd. Our favourite thing to do is work around the situation, not confront it head on. So for instance, instead of insisting our government provides 24 hours electricity, we readily embrace generating sets- with air pollution and expensive petrol costs. We’re better than the Joneses, not so?
