Pastor Funke Felix-Adejumo is known for her no-nonsense, can’t-be-bothered-to-pander-to-your-sensitivities sermons. In this particular message, she took on stay-at-home mums and financial dependence.

This tweep takes exception to Pastor Funke’s message:

This week, Ololade Ajekigbe wrote an article titled How To Know If You Are Poor. In that article, she gave an illustration of a woman who’s been married couple of years losing her husband and reverting to poverty because she’d been a housewife at her husband’s request and had no savings to fall back on, but she has five children. It’s this bracket of women Pastor Funke was speaking to.
Twitter weighs in:

You see @funkeadejumo is someone who I 've bn listening2 since 2004. The real culprits are those who trend 1min out of a 1hr sermon

I know of a woman whose husband passed away and couldn't afford to pay the school fees of her kids just because she was a house wife

What if ur husband dies or divorces u? What's ur plan B as a woman. A woman has to b financially independent cos a man may nt always b there

And that’s the thrust of the message!
