This depressing story has no light at the end of the tunnel. Besides putting one in a funk for good, the only other thing it does is stir up questions. For example, the perennial question: Why do women stay? Do victims of domestic abuse really stay because of the kids or because they figure they have no options? If a woman who is being beaten blue-black by her significant other daily is given a house, a job, income, will she still stay?
Kevin Hart’s wife, Eniko, said she will not be divorcing her cheating husband because “he’ll come home to her at the end of the day”. Loni Love of The Real speaking in defence of Eniko’s decision said, “where she gonna go”? Implying that the pregnant Eniko cannot afford to take care of herself financially. Who knows, with the cheating that saw her morph from mistress to Wife, maybe a prenup was forced on her.
So once again, why do women stay?
