Timini Egbuson’s “Reel Love” Grosses ₦99.3 Million in the Opening Weekend Box Office

Timini Egbuson’s Valentine’s Day film, “Reel Love,” made an impressive ₦99.3 million at the box office during its opening weekend (14 to 16 February), securing its position as the number-one Nollywood film. The film came in second to Captain America, which recorded approximately ₦121.7 million.

“Reel Love,” released on 14 February, tells the story of the renowned relationship influencer Tomide Jobi, portrayed by Timini Egbuson, who clashes with an insufferable woman, Rita Monday. The movie features Timini Egbuson, Atlanta Bridget Johnson, Funke Akindele, Hermes Iyele, Bimbo Ademoye, Chico Aligwekwe, Dakore Akande, and Efa Iwara.

The romcom movie grossed ₦107.55 million within five days of its release and is expected to reach ₦200 million within 10 days. It is the first Nollywood production to surpass that milestone in 2025, ahead of Summer Rain and Something About the Briggs.
