NNPC alleges sabotage plot by internal and external syndicate

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has raised alarm over what it described as a coordinated sabotage campaign orchestrated by a syndicate of both known and anonymous actors within and outside the company.
In a statement released on Thursday, the management of NNPC Ltd. said the group is actively spreading false information aimed at undermining the leadership and tarnishing the reputation of the company.
NNPC warned that the orchestrated misinformation was designed to derail its ongoing transformation into a transparent, corruption-free, and performance-driven national energy company, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s reform agenda. The company reaffirmed its commitment to accountability and transparency amid what it termed “malicious distractions.”
JAMB urges candidates to print mop-up exam slips despite low turnout

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has called on candidates scheduled to write today’s Mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination to urgently print their notification slips.
The board expressed concern over the low turnout, revealing that only 12,442 out of the 98,232 candidates expected to sit for the exam had printed their slips as of yesterday, representing just 12.6% participation.
JAMB emphasized that the notification slip is mandatory for access to the exam centres and warned that failure to present it would bar candidates from participating in the examination.

A High Court in Nairobi has ruled that the June 2021 arrest and transfer of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu, from Kenya to Nigeria was unlawful and illegal.
In his judgment, Justice E. Mwita condemned the actions of both the Nigerian and Kenyan governments, stating they violated Kanu’s fundamental rights protected under the constitutions of both nations.
The court also ordered the Kenyan government to pay 10 million Kenyan shillings (approximately ₦98 million) in compensation to Kanu for the illegal rendition and detention, describing the process as a gross violation of international and constitutional law.
