From starring in Omoni Oboli’s Wives on Strike early in the year to her own upcoming dramedy The Ghost and the Tout, Toyin Abraham has been on a roll. She may not be the best actor in the room (I think she overemotes sometimes), but her fans do love her. Evidence? They bought tickets to her 2017 star-studded Yoruba comedy Alakada Reloaded, helping her to reportedly recoup N25 million in the first three days.
Now, with her reality show titled Toyin Abraham: True and Bare on its way, Toyin Abraham is utilising television to the fullest. True and Bare will see the Nollywood actress in her most relatable and truest self, and a dash of crazy. Potential online TV behemoth Linda Ikeji TV will premiere the show, adding it to its waiting list of celebrity-based reality content like King Tonto.
Nollywood actors making the jump into reality television has been a thing since forever, just ask Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Jim Iyke. The trailer for True and Bare features interesting shots of ratchetness, Toyin Abraham-style, making the show a love letter from the actress to her fans.
