Chioma Paul-Dike and Eric Kafui Okyerefo bring this short film to life as it centres on African tradition and spiritism.
Starring Muyiwa David, Teniola Oyelumade, and Adedamola Akapo, “Until 23” tells the story of Shina, who is given no choice but to accompany his travel partner, Adesewa, on a trip to Lagos as she is terrified of journeying at night alone.
“Until 23” short film premieres on the screen of the African International Film Festival on the 7th of November.
The short film is unfortunately not a happy story as it paints a clear picture of the lives of individuals, showcasing the things that make us human.
“Until 23” reveals to the audience that no one knows what fate has in store for them as Shina’s parents instruct him and Adesewa to drive down to the Ifa’s shrine where they both uncover a two-decades-old vow.
