US. Senator Marco Rubio has commended President Donald Trump and the Armed Forces for the airstrikes launched in Syria on Friday.

Rubio in a statement said the mission was a clearly warning to Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad “that the days of committing war crimes with impunity are over”.

He added that efforts be made to ensure Assad is no longer a threat and that Russia should be stopped from supporting his reign.
