Foremost entertainment production company “Walt Disney company” will donate $2.5 million to support Hurricane Irma relief efforts across Florida, the Caribbean and other protected areas affected by the Atlantic storm, Washington Examiner reports.

According to a statement from the company on Tuesday, the donation will be disbursed proportionally to organisations actively involved in the relief effort, they include, the American Red Cross, UNICEF, Save the Children and other relief organisations.

CEO of Walt Disney Company, Robert A. Iger said, “As millions of people now face the daunting challenge of putting their lives and communities back together in the wake of these historic hurricanes, they need our help.l

“We’re donating $2.5 million to support relief and recovery efforts in response to Hurricane Irma. This is in addition to nearly $16 million we raised after Hurricane Harvey to help ensure storm victims have the support needed to recover and rebuild,” Robert added.

Coupled with the donation, the company has also instituted a lprogram “Disney Employee Matching Gifts,” with which it matches dollar for dollar employees’ donations aim at helping aid recovery organisations.

The company is solidly engaged in the relief efforts and had taken commendable steps as it also raised $16 million last week to help the victims of Hurricane Irma which ravaged Texas and Louisiana.
