Tems receives BET Award for Best Gospel/Inspirational Act

Nigerian artist Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, snagged home one of the awards at the 2024 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards show for Best Gospel/Inspirational Act for her smash single, ‘Me & U’.

The artist won the award over other nominated artists, namely Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans, Halle Bailey, and Maverick City Music.

No other Nigerian artist took home any of the awards at the 2024 BET Awards as Tyla beat Ayra Starr to receive the award for Best New Artist, while Burna Boy lost two nominations to Usher and Kendrick.

Nigerian trending sensational artist Ayra Starr performed at the international 2024 Glastonbury Festival.

The ‘Commas’ singer has had no time to waste since releasing her sophomore album “The Year I Turned 21”. After dropping her album, the artist became the opening act for Chris Brown’s tour, ‘11:11’, before coming to deliver an eclectic performance at the Glastonbury stage, which hosted multiple A-list singers.

Although the singer was absent at the BET Awards, she was nominated in a few categories, such as “Best International Act,” “Best New Artist,” and “BET HER”.

Olu Jacobs death rumours debunked by AGN

Nollywood veteran actor Olu Jacobs was rumoured to have allegedly passed on, shocking the Nigerians as love for the actor knew no bounds.

Fortunately, the news was said to have been false by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), who claimed that the man was still alive and in his home.

Burna Boy performs at sold-out 80,000 London Stadium

Burna Boy challenges himself once again by selling out an 80,000 London stadium as he calls on comedian Sabinus and rapper Phyno to open the night for his performance.

Burna Boy once again sold out an 80,000 capacity West Ham United’s London Stadium, after once doing it in 2023, where he became the first African artist to headline the stadium, thrilling his fans with an ultimate performance from his fantastic setlist.

The ‘City Boys’ singer was also joined on stage by a slew of other Nigerian artists, such as Omah Lay, Pheelz, BNXN, Seyi Vibez, Shallipopi, and Odumodublvck, while the international acts who joined him on stage were Snoh Aalegra (Sweden) and Salif Keita (Mali).
