A 30-year old housewife has been arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate Court sitting in  Ebute Metta, for killing her four-year old son.

The accused, Elvis Enegbeta Chris who resides at 7, Adetola Adelaja, Meiran, Lagos, was alleged to have killed Goodrich Elvis by locking him up in a plastic drum, after hitting him with hot pressing iron.

According to the prosecutor, Richard Odigie, the offence was committed by Enegbeta Chris on February 10 at about 5 p.m at her residence which is punishable under Section 221 of the criminal laws of Lagos State, 2011.

The Sun reports:

The prosecutor applied to the court for the remand of the accused pending an advice on the matter from the office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

Subsequently, Chief Magistrate S. O. Solebo, adjourned the matter till March 19 and ordered the accused to be remanded in prison’s custody, pending an advice on the matter from the DPP.
