UPDATED: Ekiti governor, Fayose visits Fani-Kayode in EFCC custody

Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose on Tuesday visited former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

According to Punch, Fayose arrived the headquarters of the agency in Abuja at about 2:15pm and left at 4:30pm.

Fayose who spoke with journalists after the visit said Fani-Kayode was in good spirit when he met him.

He called on the Federal Government to grant him bail which just as the court as earlier ordered.

Fayose also said he does not understand why Fani-Kayode was still being held even as he was slated for arraignment on November 10.

“The continued detention of the former minister was aimed at demoralising him but unfortunately, the man was in high spirit when I met him.

“He is not worried, after all, a man must be brave. We shared prayer together that this persecution will come to pass and it will surely come to pass,” he said.

Recall that the EFCC had reportedly banned visits to highly placed individuals in its custody.
