Court sacks PDP Acting Chairman, Uche Secondus

The Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus has been sacked by Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf of the High Court of the Federal Territory (FCT), Maitama, Abuja.

The judge, in a judgment delivered on Tuesday, ruled that Secondus was occupying the party’s chairmanship seat illegally.

Justice Baba-Yusuf held that Secondus was from Rivers State and not Northeast geopolitical zone, where the PDP originally zoned the position to.

The suit was filed before the Federal High court by Ahmed Gulak, a former political adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

The judge gave Secondus 14 days to vacate the office, while also directing the plaintiff (Gulak) or any other party member worthy of the position to take over from Secondus.
