Country on fire, the President clueless and incompetent. Human lives would be lost today, and the President would be found somewhere dancing and jubilating. For what? For the party. There is God o.

Everything we do, good or bad, we must always remember God. He is so powerful. Many people have been saying that God leaves us in our current predicament because we are wicked. God is never wicked, though. Quranically speaking, God had said He “will not change people’s condition, unless they change what is within themselves”. So no wonder we are still suffering. God is not to blame.

If we are poor, we always covet for other’s wealth. If we are rich, we are as gluttonous as a cow who filled her mouth with a bunch of hay, but still mooing for more or like a pig who has much for his belly but had to, inadvertently, snort and oink to show dissatisfaction. We are all guilty. We are so guilty because we, intentionally, tend to forget that there is God o. Thanks to Mama First Lady for bringing us to the mainspring of the consciousness of this holy and phrase. We must be proud of her.

Whenever we have a problem, we refer it to God. Insecurity, we say God will see us through. Poverty, we relay the responsibility for curbing it to God. Economic crisis, God tops our solution. Problem in education, we are not ashamed to say God will solve it. He hears it all. He responds. But only after we play a role. We don’t play any role, and that is the problem. But Mama Dame reminded us that “There is God o”. We should be careful.

Education is a tool for eradicating almost everything worrying us, as a nation; poverty, ignorance, insecurity, corruption etc. An educated fellow will not live in poverty: s/he will be employed, but only if the government officials, too, are educated to know this. Education automatically chases ignorance away. You cannot be educated and ignorant at the same time (even though many of our leaders appeared to be something worse than this; educated illiterates). You will not make mistake if you say that Boko Haram is as a result of ignorance. It has been five years now since they started their rampant killings. The President had promised, multiply, that “we will get over it”. Well, God is there.

Sanusi had blown the whistle last year that $20bn was missing from the crude oil funds. Sanusi was sacked for that. Despite the pressure on the Federal Government to explain the story behind the missing trillions, they did not give a damn. The President even said that if such amount of money were to be stolen, America will know. If I may ask, what did America know about Abacha “loot” at the time of his reign, and years later? Nothing. America cannot know all the money stolen in Nigeria. To forget that, where is the money? What has it been used for? The President had dodged to answer these questions. We know the money, no matter how less, was indeed stolen. The Finance Minister admitted that there was some money that were not remitted to the federation account. Where is the money? Nobody has explained. All we need to remind those leaders, as Nigerians, is that “There is God o”.

We jump on the queues. We, illegally, skip gridlocks. We, out of fear of a uniformed officers, give away our little earnings on the roads, just to be allowed in with a contraband and its likes. We take part in the lynching of small thieves – some who stole something not far worth a thousand naira- the moment we hear someone shouting ole or barawo at him. But we have no shame to fete, welcome and celebrate the bigger thieves, who have been making us more poorer; killing our children for ritual; using our brothers as political thugs, only to dispose them off after victory; stealing and stealing our money. We cheat in the exams. We hate someone who doesn’t go to the same place of worship as us, without realizing who they may become the next day. We dislike somebody from a language, tribe or region that is not ours. We claim to be religious when we are godless. We are doing things abruptly…we don’t realize that one day we shall all die. There is God o.

Insurgents are killing people, a ruling party is blaming the opposition party for supporting the insurgents. Blame game is played boisterously in our political environment. We watch helplessly. But one thing is certain, and we must always keep it in mind: There is God o.

The First Lady is depending on her husband… because he is her husband. She asked the women, who are protesting over their missing girl children, to stop it because the wife of Borno state governor is not attending her meetings. As a Women Leader, she doesn’t need Nana Shettima to help the helpless people of Borno state. But she minced her words, strategically. She cried, wept and sob. Importantly , for us, the God conscious, she said ” There is God o”.

Boko Haram, there is God o.

Deizani scandal, there is God o.

Embezzlement, there is God o.

Sanusi disclosure, there is God o.

GDP rebasing, there is God o.

Bombing and killings, there is God o.

Kidnapping, there is God o.

Corruption with impunity, there is God o.

Playing politics, there is God o.

Blame-trades there is God o.

Election rigging, there is God o.

Immigration recruitment, there is God o.

Everything in Nigeria, there is God o.

Every Nigerian shall believe, there is God o.

First Lady said: “There is God o.”
