14 people were reportedly killed in an accident which involved the convoy of Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo on Thursday, January 22.

The victims were burnt beyond recognition in the crash which occurred in the evening, at about 7 pm, along Bauchi/Gombe Federal Highway.

The Police spokesperson, DSP Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the accident, in a statement, revealing that three Hummer buses and a motorcycle were gutted by fire.

He disclosed that Police patrol team attached to Alkaleri Division visited the scene, cleared obstruction and evacuated the casualties to Federal Medical Centre, Gombe, he noted.

Mohammed also stated that investigation has commenced into the accident.
