#1 Fact- Davido’s stage performance is mediocre to those who don’t dig live music and utterly unbearable to those who do.
#2 Fact- 95 per cent of artistes, Nigerian and beyond, endeavour to get intoxicated before hopping on stage.
#3 Fact- Davido won’t be performing in Kenya any time soon.
For those of you who have been completely immersed in the political discourse and election drama, here’s an update on what’s happened in the past 48 hours in the life of rich-kid-singer, Davido.
On Saturday, March 28, while the Nigerian elections were going on, Davido was performing in a concert show in Kenya, and according to the folks of the country, his performance was faster than a quickie- pun certainly intended.
The people of the East African country, especially those who attended the event have been irate all day, venting on Twitter and creating series of memes to chastise the singer nicknamed- Omo Baba Olowo.
Now to the possible reasons why Davido had an underwhelming performance in Kenya:
1. Strong Kenyan marijuana
Kenyans like to pride themselves with having a high-grade of marijuana a.k.a weed a.k.a cannabis. According to those who attended the concert, Davido and his entourage weren’t informed about this, and as such, comprehensively smoked-up, got messed up and inadvertently messed up on stage.
2. The bottle… or bottles
Just like we said earlier, for some reason, ‘the eyes have to be reasonably tinted before our artistes can confidently perform on stage’, and like a good ambassador, Davido just had to do the normal thing… and get wasted.
Only this time, he managed to over-do it in Kenya.
According to Mwangala George, a fellow who attended the concert, Davido was too drunk “that he even undressed backstage and even caused a scene.”
3. Attitude and/or immaturity factor
Davido has managed to be successful in the past few years, and deservedly at that… it’s expected in this parts for someone of his age to have some sort attitude issues, no?
What can one expect from a 21-year-old famous singer who’s got a billionaire father?
The Kenyans at the concert accused him of being rude, childish and full of himself. It was even reported that he abused organizers of the event and security at the venue and club.
Oh well, we’re not really surprised… are you?
