It would appear that sacked National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party is still at the denial stage of loss and grief as he has refused to accept his removal and move on.
The embattled former chairman has informed a federal high court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, that he is still the national chairman of the PDP.
Sheriff, through his lawyer, Ajibola Oluyede, is praying the court to nullify the appointment of the Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee, saying that the committee was a group of “corrupt usurpers.”
The PDP had filed a lawsuit against Sheriff, former PDP National Secretary, Professor Adewale Oladipo, Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), the Inspector-General of Police and Department of State Services (DSS).
The party is asking the court to restrain Sheriff and Oladipo from parading themselves as officials of the former ruling party pending the outcome of a substantive lawsuit.
