
An 18-year-old teenager, Ezekiel Adenipekun, has been sent back to prison, awaiting trial at the Osogbo Magistrates’ Court for allegedly killing his mother, Fumilayo, with a machete.
The accused who resides at Irojo area of Ilesha, Osun committed the offence at about 3pm, July 21, inflicting serious machete cuts on his mother concentrating on her neck, while she was sleeping in her room.
This was narrated to the court by the police prosecutor, Inspector Wilson Meriti.

The prosecutor said the offence committed was contrary to and punishable under section 316(1) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.11 Laws of Osun, 2003.
The plea of the accused was, however, not taken because of the capital nature of the offence.
Magistrate Habbibat Basiru ordered that the accused be remanded in Ilesha Prison.
Ms. Basiru also directed that the case file be duplicated and forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
The case was adjourned to October 23 for mention.
