Ayo Fayose has enough troubles of his own, hence, he can be forgiven for not wanting to be associated with the brouhaha of Buruji Kashamu, a man he once shared a bottle of Moet champagne with as well as a plate of amala.
Forgiven!
The Ekiti state governor has distanced himself far away from the ongoing drama at the Lekki Phase I home of Kashamu, whom has reportedly locked himself in his room, to escaped being arrested by agents of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
The NDLEA had arrived the home of the Ogun Senator-elect earlier today to pick him up and extradite him to the United States to answer to drug-related charges.
Kashamu threatened to commit suicide rather than release himself for arrest.
Hours later, Fayose was quoted to have sprang to the defence of Kashamu, via a statement.
He however, denied it while speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka.
“Kindly disregard any press statement being circulated that I made on Prince Buruji Kashamu today. I have not made any press statement on the travail of Buruji Kashamu today both on Twitter and Facebook or any social media platform.”
“Obviously, the comment being referred to was generated by desperate political spin doctors with ulterior motives and their motive must be to drag me into what does not concern me as a governor.”
“For all intent and purposes, the issue relating to Prince Buruji Kashamu is not political and I as a governor does not have anything to do with it.”
