When couples divorce they often pledge to remain friends ‘for the children’.

But while their intentions may be good, rarely do they manage to forge a relationship as close as that which Russell Simmons obviously shares with his ex-wife Kimora Lee Simmons.

In remarkable scenes, supermodel Kimora chased her ex-husband round the beach whipping him jokingly with a towel, as his 24-year-old model girlfriend laughed at them on Christmas Eve.

Having split from her longterm partner, model Djimon Gaston Hounsou, last month, Kimora and her three children have joined her ex-husband for the holiday period.

Simmons is the father of Kimora’s oldest two girls, Ming and Aoki, while Sjimon fathered her youngest child, son Kenzo.

Kimora looked dressed to impress in a printed bikini, stack of arm bracelets and a jeweled chain around her waist and leading to her neck.

The island holds lots of happy memories for the mother-of-two, being the scene of her marriage to Russell 14 years ago when she was just 23 years old. She had met Simmons when she was just 17.

While her close relationship to the hip hop mogul, with whom she founded the successful clothing line Baby Phat, Kimora could be seen as a threat.

But German beauty Hana was obviously relaxed about the onetime couple’s friendship.

And with good reason. Herself a successful model after finding fame on Germany’s Next Top Model, Hana is a notable beauty.

She is now enjoying a relationship with ladies man Russell, who at 55 is 30 years her senior.
