Following the barrage of accusations President Muhammadu Buhari faced over his failure to visit Ogoni land, Senator Shehu Sani has come to the his defense.

It was alleged that the President skipped the visit over the assassination threat purportedly made by militant group, Niger Delta Avengers.

Sani, who represents Kaduna state in the National Assembly, is renowned for his outspoken position on national issues.

He wrote on his Facebook wall on Friday that Buhari’s refusal to visit Ogoni wasn’t out of fear.

“Threats of assassination by deranged Avengers couldn’t have been the reason for PMB’s cancelled visit. When he cancelled the trip to Lagos there was no threats and no such mischievous conjectures.”

“I’m not disputing that every human being has fears, but not for a Man who risked his life and fought a civil war to unite his country and made a carrier in the defence of his nation. For a Man who has experienced darkness, have no fear of a shadow.”
