Buhari visits APC supporters shot by gunmen in Rivers (See Photos)

Several supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were seriously injured when gunmen shot sporadically in Rivers state on Tuesday, January 6.

Around 5.30am, unknown gunmen reportedly opened fire on the vehicle of the APC members while on their way to Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign ground at Adokiye Amasiemaka Stadium in Omagwa, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state.

A former militant leader, reportedly a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gokona LGA, is believed by many to be behind the attacks on the APC supporters.

Five of the victims who were shot, were rushed to a hospital in Port Harcourt, where some bullets were extracted from their bodies.

Earlier today, January 7, Buhari and other executive members of his party went to the hospital the victims of the attack.
