The Nigerian internet is always abuzz with hilarious sounds, and sometimes these sounds are those pulled out of old nollywood movies. To keep you up to date on what’s trending at the moment, we take a look at the “Cynthia Ofori” trend and where it started from.
The sound was pulled out of a scene in a Ghanaian movie where a student was being asked to leave school over outstanding fees.
While the sound is simple, the TikTok, tweets and Instagram captions that have come out of the Nigerian space have been hilarious and it has reached every demographic on social media.
People have made tons of videos that have gone viral using the sound, with it making its way to Instagram and Twitter and being used as captions and as the opening liner for tweets. Brands like Gino and other small businesses have used the sound on their TikTok.
