We all need a break from time to time. A little period to reflect, handle your most personal issues, and just focus on yourself. It is a necessity most people often undermine, and if not taken seriously could have a lasting effect on one’s mental health.
While social media is increasingly becoming an irreplaceable gem for our generation and possibly generations to come, in this regards it is not. Other than on social media, there is nowhere else, one is likely to develop an alarming level of social anxiety. It used to be that if a certain phenomenon, perhaps an event outside of school or work, a story, a conversation, or an incident made you uncomfortable, you simply avoid it.
Nowadays, those uncomfortable instances are brought to you via your mobile device on social media, and if you have a smartphone with data connection it is almost impossible to avoid. This explains why you are advised to drop your phone for a while if what keeps appearing in your feed on social media provokes you.
What’s the gist?
Multi-award winning singer and one of Nigeria’s biggest music acts; Davido, seems to have taken this advice, and has put down his phone for some time now.
Pls understand… see you when i drop ABT pic.twitter.com/ghdN3xJKbG

This is coming on the heels of a message he sent to his followers 3rd of June, that he would be off social media for some time, to take care of things.
I pray God gives @davido the strenght and grace to deal with his personal issues

Its been over a week now and the singer has kept to his word. Davido is fast becoming a brand that not only entertains but inspires, and fans are beginning to miss that.
Twitter hasn’t been the same since the African social media King has been away…
We’ve missed all your motivational quotes and words of encouragement and what we’ve witnessed since you’ve been away have been displays of rascality & immaturity from the other kid ??#WeMissDavido pic.twitter.com/DdZQRwZT4Y

This is also particularity troubling because Davido is one of the most eccentric content creators on social media in Nigeria, providing fans with – couple goals, lifestyle goals and motivational messages that have propelled many towards striving to be better.
Davido preaches love. He gave Cynthia Morgan a national anthem even though. He gave Ayanfe Dmw the platform. That's why we love him. He's an artist and humanitarian at the same time. His motto "we rise by lifting others" remains 4ever in our heart. WeAre30BG. #WeMissDavido pic.twitter.com/jEnUUHwb0r
