Edo Tracker: El-Rufai, Oshiomhole behind postponement – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused Governors Nasir El-Rufai and Adams Oshiomhole of being behind the postponement of the Edo governorship election, The Punch reports.

The state chapter of the party said Governor Oshiomhole sought the help of El-Rufai to influence the postponement.

The state chairman of the party, Chief Dan Orbih made the disclosure at a press briefing on Wednesday in Benin.
Orbih said the party received information from the Government House that a national commissioner of INEC was allegedly influenced by El-Rufai.
The Edo State Government has denied the allegations, saying the PDP was scared.
The allegations was also dismissed by the spokesperson for INEC in Edo, Mrs. Priscilla Imoudu-Sule.
She said, “I want to say that the electoral oficers have been very busy retrieving their materials from their camp. Also, they have brought their card readers for fresh reconfiguration.
“So, all those things anybody is saying are not from here; they are just their imagination. I would rather advise that they go and campaign for the remaining two weeks and make up for that time. They should leave the administrative issues for INEC alone.”
