The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed on Wednesday said the Federal Government will continue to engage the Senate on the benefit of the $29.9bn external loan.
The Senate had on Tuesday rejected and voted out the loan request through a voice vote.
But Lai Mohammed while speaking with State House correspondents said President Muhammadu Buhari will send the proposal to the Senate again.
Mohammed expressed optimism that the lawmakers will see the benefit of the borrowing plan.
He said, “It is not unusual for the government and the Senate to have some disagreements; they (senators) want more information. We will continue to engage them. We will give them all the information they need.
“We are sure that by the time we finish, they will approve the request.”
