Wait, is GEJ trying to prove a point by going jogging tomorrow?

by Damilola Jagun

Less than two months ago, the PDP campaign asked the 72-year-old presidential candidate of the APC, to jog round a stadium to prove his fitness.

Fani-Kayode had said: “We are constrained to urge him (Buhari) to prove to the Nigerian people that he really is as fit as a fiddle, as the spokesman of his PCO has said, by taking a brisk walk or even jogging around the perimeter of the stadium before any of his rallies. If he can do that, it will go a long way to allay the fears of many.”

Muhammadu Buhari didn’t really pay much attention to the ruling party, and now, the flag-bearer of the PDP, President Goodluck Jonathan is about to show him how it’s done… on national television.

On Saturday, March 6, the president and other government officials will go jogging from the Presidential Villa to the Eagle Square, in Abuja.

According to Jonathan’s main mouthpiece, Reuben Abati, the out-door physical training will include “jogging, physical stretches and light aerobics, will culminate in a solidarity rally for President Jonathan at the Eagle Square organised by the Nigerian sports community.”

By the way, sports men and women like- Joseph Yobo, Mary Onyali, Austin Eguavoen, Kanu Nwankwo and Chika Chukwumerije, will be involved.
