US president Donald Trump has said he would defeat Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton in the popular vote.
Trump, who emerged US president at the November election lost the popular vote as he garnered 62,984,825 votes as against Clinton’s 65,853,516.
However, he won the electoral college by 304 to 227 votes.

But Trump on Sunday via his Twitter account said he would beat Clinton in the popular vote saying 53 percent of current polls rated him as a “strong leader”.
“New polls out today are very good considering that much of the media is FAKE and almost always negative. Would still beat Hillary in popular vote. ABC News/Washington Post Poll (wrong big on election) said almost all stand by their vote on me and 53% said strong leader,” Trump said.
