Men believed to be members of the Boko Haram Islamic sect have allegedly distributed leaflets warning the people of Gombe against voting in the coming elections or risk getting killed.
A Twitter user, @zvyyvd posted pictures of leaflets written in Hausa Language essentially warning Nigerian citizens living in the North east of the country against participating in the elections scheduled to hold on March 28 and April 28 later this year.

Many Twitter users have, however, wondered how the insurgents believed to be nomadic in their operation acquired the resources to mass produce such leaflets and distribute them to the public.
They have also expressed skepticism saying the message is most likely a ploy by agents of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to reduce the number of potential votes for opposition candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, coming from the North east.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had, last week, postponed the February 14 elections due to the unavailability of Nigerian troops who are saddled with the constitutional responsibility of complementing security operations during the elections.
The Army has reportedly stepped up operations in the terrorist affected areas in a bid to flush out Boko Haram insurgents.
