#SaveMayowa was a cause that brought Nigerians together and subsequently, rather unfortunately divided them following reports of a ‘ruse’. However, it appears only God, through the surgeons, who Mayowa Ahmed is on her way to see in South Africa, can save her.

This might come as a surprise as the family of the Stage IV Ovarian cancer patient had revealed she was heading to a hospital in Abu Dhabi for surgery during the controversy that emanated between them and some influential Nigerians who helped in raising funds for the expensive treatment.

However, YNaija spoke to inside sources who asserted that Mayowa left the country this morning aboard an Arik Air flight to Johannesburg, South Africa.

“She left this morning en route South Africa on an Arik Air flight,” our source stated.

We also gathered that the family had initially intended to fly via Etihad Airways but the airline rejected this request as it felt she was too frail to travel –  something the doctors at LUTH had feared and warned the family against. 

Going by this, our prayers are with the family as we hope that their determination to see their loved one, Mayowa Ahmed, become hale and hearty once more, pays off.
