‘Float like a Butterfly, Sting Like A Bee, The hands can’t hit what the eyes can’t see’
Those words were said by the late Muhammad Ali just before his bout with George Foreman in 1974.
The legendary boxer was renowned for his superior hand speed, amazing reflexes and quick movement, dancing and circling opponents for most of the fight, holding his hands low and lashing out with a quick, cutting left jab that he threw from unpredictable angles.
His footwork was so strong that it became difficult for opponents to get him cornered against the ropes.
In an exhibition match against Michael Dokes in 1977, Ali taunted his opponent by letting himself get cornered by his opponent and dodging an incredible 21 punches thrown at him in a remarkable 10 seconds.
