The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed the postponement of the the three-week Batch A Orientation course.
The orientation course was earlier scheduled to commence on Wednesday, March 30 but has been rescheduled to start Wednesday, April 27.
NYSC director of press and public relations, Abosede Aderibigbe confirmed the postponement to TheCable.
Aderibigbe did not state exactly why the schedule was adjusted but communicated her apology to the prospective corps member for whatever inconvenience the shift would bring.
She said “We wish to confirm the shift in date for the commencement of the 2016 Batch ‘A’ Orientation course.”
“We also use this opportunity to express our sincere regrets over any inconveniences this change of date might cause to Prospective Corps Members and other esteemed stakeholders.”
The new time-table for the course is as follows:
Stream I
Commencement: Wednesday, 27th April, 2016
Swearing-in ceremony: Friday, 29th April, 2016, Close of Camp: Friday, 13th May, 2016
Stream II
Commencement: Saturday, 21st May, 2016 Swearing-in ceremony: Monday, 23rd May, 2016
Close of Camp: Monday, 6th June, 2016
