Charity they say begins at home and Senator Andy Uba has taken every step in the right direction to ensure that the remotest part of his constituency benefits from community projects and timely interventions when necessary.
Andy Uba, the Senator representing Anambra South exemplifies the modern day Nigerian Senator on the account of his stewardship and contribution towards the feats recorded by the 8th Senate so far.
n his foresight to tackle the perennial situation in his State and improve the living condition of his people, Senator Andy Uba has redefined representation. His Motions moved in the upper chamber, and his numerous people oriented petitions raised has pitched him as arguably the best Senator not only from Anambra but the South East as a whole.
In fulfilment of his mandate to serve his people through a vibrant representation backed by results, Dr Andy Uba’s Bills sponsored in the floor of the Senate has continued to elicit support from his colleagues and Nigerians in general. Some of the bills include but not limited to:
A: a Bill for an Act to amend the Company income tax.
B: a Bill for an Act to Establish the National Roads Fund
C: a Bill for an Act to provide for the establishment of the Dietitians Council of Nigeria
D: The Competition (Anti-Trust) Commission (Establishment, etc) Bill, 2016
E: a Bill for act to repeal the Consumer Protection Act, 2004,
These bills have passed through various stages of reading while some are at different committee stages awaiting further Legislative input.
The Bills by Senator Andy Uba, when assented to by Mr President, and passed into law will have a far-reaching effect on the larger society and improve the ease of doing business through regulations and amendment to our existing policies. ,
On the positives, the reaction that trailed Senator Andy Uba’s defection from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Party (APC), are somewhat encouraging. It is a known fact that Andy Uba has used his wealth of experience gathered in his political sojourn to better the course of the Peoples’ Democratic Party and he is never afraid to invest where his dreams lie.
Unfortunately, the power tussle and politics of bitterness that engulfed the PDP leadership and the total aberrance from the visions of the founding fathers of the party has left Andy Uba no choice but to pitch his tent with another party that exhibits respect for party ideology.
You will recall that Senator Andy Uba in 2010 contested the Anambra Governorship election and returned to the PDP. This clearly shows that he’s never afraid to move on whenever his representation to his people is threatened for no just cause.
Dr Andy Uba is a philanthropist per excellence in and out of government and he’s demonstrated an unrivalled achievement where his predecessors have failed.
As a medical Doctor, the Chairman Senate Committee on Public Accounts, Andy Uba understands that a viable health care system with healthy living people will translate to a healthy workforce for the state. This, he took a notch higher by investing in health care facilities and providing free medical care to the people his hometown.
No doubt, Andy Uba has touched more lives by reducing poverty and creating opportunities for sustainable human development.
The cap fits, and wherever Andy Uba decides to go, his people are sure ready to follow, because his leadership qualities are second to none.
