#OsunDecides: Thousands gather in Osogbo as Omisore shares cash

by Godwin Akanfe

There were thousands of people at the field beside the OYESTECH training centre in Osogbo this afternoon. They were there to receive a sum of money per person from the Omisore Youth Support Foundation (OYSF).

Our journalist who was on ground reports that the people queued eagerly as they waited to get their own money. They were supposedly supporters of Iyiola Omisore.

One of the leaders told our journalist, “These are the people who registered with the OYSF some months ago. The registration was done in various wards. So today we are here to empower them by giving them some money, just to appreciate their support.”

This OYSF leader did not disclose the actual sum they intended to distribute, but he said that each person on their register would get the same amount.

Our journalist noticed more than a dozen policemen and police helicopters on the premises, but the OYSF man said the policemen were there on their own.

The people shoved and jostled under the sun as they waited for their turn. The queues comprised men and women of various ages, from teenagers to people in their 70s.
