Nigerians must look and should look forward to an election that could be a turning point in the nation’s history but then at what cost would it come?
Nigeria has always held general elections since its 1st republic on the backdrop of its Independence in 1960, First general election in 1959, Second republic 1979/1983, Third Republic (thwarted 1993) election and sequentially since the upstage of the fourth republic in 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011 and the long awaited 2015 election, but what is different about this election that has generated so much tension? Simple, there are two major candidates who are strongly in the race each with clear cut chances of winning, the incumbent, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan (PDP) and major opposition, General Muhammadu Buhari (APC).
