The Sokoto state government has said it will assist the Nigerian Army by providing critical infrastructures and assisting officers in every way possible to enable them carry out their constitutional mandate.
Governor Aminu Tambuwal stated this on Saturday when he visited the army’s Brigade Command in Sokoto.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Imam Imam on Sunday, he said the welfare and well-being of men and officers of all security agencies operating in the state is of topmost priority to the government.
Tambuwal stated that Sokoto state has benefited immensely from activities of the Brigade Command, adding that soon, the government and the army authorities will sign MoU to expand the activities of the command’s skills acquisition centre to include youths and women from all parts of the state.
“The state government will complete the Water project currently going on with the Army Barracks, while accommodation, especially of youth corps members, will be provided to ease their burden,” he said.
He commended the Brigade Commander, Chikezie Ude for embarking on various projects within the barracks despite the lean resources available, promising to assist where necessary.
