Three operatives of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) were reported to have been killed by suspected drug mafia on Sunday, in Owode-Yewa, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State.
According to reports, the deceased officers were attached to the state command of the agency.
It was gathered that the gang unleashed terror on anti-drug agents who had gone to the area on an operation following a tip-off that there were drug dealers operating in the area.
The suspected drug dealers had reportedly laid ambush for the officers as they arrived.
According to Nigerian Tribune, the gang were suspected to be involved in large supply of drugs to some states in the South-west.
The incident was confirmed by the NDLEA’s Public Relations Officer in the state, Abdullahi Sarduana.
