A leaked memo written by Ibe Kachikwu, the Minister of State for Petroleum resources, surfaced yesterday. In it, Kachikwu blew the whistle on the Group Managing Director for corrupt practices and insubordination.

In our last night’s Noisemakers piece, we saw Demola Olarewaju and a few others speak on the implications of Kachikwu’s revelations.
Here’s more where that came from:
Wailers, here I come
My attention has been drawn to the fact that $26B scandal is rocking NNPC under Baba Buhari
As Kachikwu seeks a Transfer move to Wailers FC

Kachikwu’s been Babachir’d
Problem is will Buhari read kachikwu's letter? Man is yet to act on the one Osibanjo, his VP, submitted.
— Emeka (@EmekaEmezue) October 3, 2017
This letter is too long for Buhari to read sha. Someone will just summarize it and say, "Kachikwu is only greeting you sir." https://t.co/GpDpjal54e

If Villa rats & rodents ate Osinbajo's report on the grass cutter, they can eat Ibe Kachikwu's letter o.

PMB will keep Kachikwu's memo to the archives where Babachir's indictment report has been 'resting in peace'. In the "other room" mode. Lol.

97% vs 3%
Kachikwu didn't get the memo. There's no Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation any more. It is now Northern Nigeria Petroleum Corporation.

Kachikwu a 5%er actually expects Baru a 97%er to get his approval before awarding contracts or making appointments in NNPC? ??
— Babasola Kuti (@SKSolaKuti) October 3, 2017
Why is Ibe Kachikwu, the Min. of State for Petroleum Resources, surprised that he has not been granted access to @MBuhari and that the northern MD of NNPC is undermining him? Did he expect it to be any different? Has he forgotten he is Igbo? To Buhari ALL southerners are slaves.
— Femi Fani-Kayode (@realFFK) October 4, 2017
But this happens to all the southerners serving in this Buhari administration including Osibanjo. Kachikwu is bold to expose this
— #Anderson (@NwezeOrji) October 3, 2017
President @MBuhari told Nigerians his government came to fix Nigeria. But thanks to Kachikwu we now know it came to STEAL, KILL and DESTROY!
— Reno Omokri (@renoomokri) October 4, 2017
Kachikwu is minister of state, Buhari is substantive minister – Buhari could have taken all those decisions with Baru without informing him.

Buhari’s nemesis
#KachikwuAllegations So let's focus on the substance of Kachikwu's allegations, which are pretty damning-corruption, poor governance, tribalism and no due process at NNPC!!! Will Kachikwu be Buhari's Sanusi???
— Opeyemi Agbaje (@opeyemiagbaje) October 3, 2017
#KachikwuAllegations Kachikwu alleged that contracts totaling $25Billion (!!!) were illegally awarded by NNPC MD without board approval, while MD's approval limit was $20million.
— Opeyemi Agbaje (@opeyemiagbaje) October 3, 2017
Buhari wanted somebody to do his bidding at NNPC & embark on a wild goose chase to discover oil in the North. That person is not Kachikwu.
— Onye Nkuzi (@cchukudebelu) October 4, 2017
Dear Nigerian Media, the MAIN story in Kachikwu's letter is that Baru awarded contracts worth over $25bn WITHOUT board approval. CORRUPTION!

This reminds me of the oil minister Buhari and $2.8b stolen oil money in the nineteenth eighties. And the PTF money during Abacha regime. https://t.co/rEndU1t2mD

Where are all the weeping hailers, ricetivists, rice eaters, Amala brains. Una don hear, $26billion contract scandal rocking NNPC under PMB!
— Jackson Ude (@jacksonpbn) October 3, 2017
$26Billion scandal rocking the NNPC at a time the indefatigable Buhari is President and Minister for Petroleum. These are great times.
— Baṣọ̀run Gáà (@Oddy4real) October 3, 2017
Igbo Kwenu!
Anambra should learn from Kachikwu's letter; Forget Ngige promises of Niger bridge, the man probably doesn't have Buhari's phone number
— Somto Onuchukwu (@chosensomto) October 4, 2017
Consequences
I bet my 2 pence, Baru will see no repercussions for this, more likely Kachikwu will be eased off. Infact this memo will be termed fake soon
— Moh (@Coolnnam) October 3, 2017
Ultimately, Kachikwu's days are numbered
Buhari might keep him on, but no one is allowed to move against Buhari's "anointed" ones…

#ResignOrResign

Kachikwu should have resigned when buhari started all those monkey business with NNPC.
— Oriaku Esq. (@stephie_coco) October 3, 2017
A true "professional" will resign if the conditions do not ensure he gives his best. Kachikwu so far is giving us what he can offer.
— Agbara Kelechi (@dr_spex) October 3, 2017
If Kachikwu has any iota of self-esteem left in his fine suit, he should be handing over his resignation letter now. pic.twitter.com/LU9nc6zZ1T
