UPDATE: 6 people killed in multiple explosions in Maiduguri

The Police in Borno has said 6 persons were killed in multiple explosions in Maiduguri on Friday.

According to the police, four of the victims were suicide bombers while the two others were members of the Civilian Joint Task Force.

It was gathered that the attacks took place in three different locations.

Two explosions were heard hours after two suicide bombers had detonated their bombs when they were intercepted by policemen at a security check post near a federal high court complex in Jiddari Polo.

Borno State Commissioner of Police, Damian Chukwu told journalists that a suicide bomber detonated his bomb after a failed attempt to enter Muna garage.

He said the third blast was at the city’s entrance gate, killing two members of the civilian JTF.
