The United States of America has commended the Department of State Security (DSS) for stopping a planned attack on its embassy in Abuja.

The DSS on Wednesday had said it foiled planned attacks on the US and UK embassies in the country and also arrested the masterminds.

Press Attache, US mission, Russell Brooks, said the embassy appreciates the work of the DSS.

Brooks noted that America and Nigeria have a strong partnership in countering violent extremism.

He said, “The U.S. Embassy appreciates the work of DSS and Nigerian security forces in fighting terrorism and keeping citizens and residents safe. Nigeria and the U.S. continue to have a strong partnership in countering violent extremism.”
