The annual award ceremony was held at the balmoral hall of the federal palace hotel, on Sunday the 13th of July. The award celebrated 104 nominations, with 17 categories and winners chosen by an impactful team of Judges, with the inclusion of Iyabo Ojo, Kelechi Amadi Obi, Ameyaw Deborah and Sam Onyemelukwe.
Some of the winners were Tomike Adeoye for force of Instagram, Force of Virality, Peller, Force of YouTube, Bimbo Ademoye, Force of online sensation, Jay on Air and Force of Influence, Veekee James.

The Nigerian singer made the record of being the first African to perform at a club World Cup finals. On Sunday 13th of July, Tems shook the stadium of the FIFA World Cup game and performed at the final halftime show.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has brought charges against the former manager of popular gospel singer, Mercy Chinwe, accusing him of stealing money that belonged to the artists he was managing, Mercy Chinwo and Judikay.
Both singers were formerly signed to his record label, Eezee conceptz. The troubles for the manager began after singer Mercy Chinwo accused him of contract fraud last year and it has continued until this year.
