1. TOTAL Plc, the government says, is responsible for the ongoing nationwide strike. According to the Department of State Services (DSS), members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria is protesting because of TOTAL’s unwillingness to hold up its agreement with the union. So folks, once fuel becomes scarce, feel free to blame TOTAL.
2. I would ordinarily call this fella a Bozo, but then, to each his own. A young man has spent £100, 000 in his lifelong desire to share a resemblance to Kim Kardashian. 23-year-old Jordan James says he’s obsessed with “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” He has had 50 lip-filling operations, eyebrow tattoos, Botox injections in his eyes, eyebrows and forehead, and even the famous Vampire facial.
3. The power problem is worse now more than ever. Even with the erratic and unstable power supply in the country, the electricity companies somehow, manage to come up with outrageous bills. The lamentations of electricity consumers have never been this loud.
4. Dimeji Bankole has been told he has no say in Ogun politics. Ogun State PDP governorship candidate, Gboyega Isiaka, has described the former Speaker, House of Representatives, as an alien to politics in Ogun State. He said: “Let it be stated that Dimeji Bankole is an alien in Ogun PDP today as he has never participated nor identified with the party in all its processes between 2011 and now.”
5. So many people have asked Stephen Keshi to resign, but the man simply wont budge. Shuaibu Amodu, the new technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation, has also urged the Super Eagles gaffer to honourably resign. Amodu says Keshi has failed, hence he should go. This man should move on already.
6. It’s buck-passing season, and we are getting entertained. After Junaid Idrissa Khadi, an aide to Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima was arrested by the SSS for alleged ties to Boko Haram, the state governor’s office has moved to defend itself, by shifting the blame to the Shettima’s predecessor. According to them, the infamous Ali Modu Sheriff appointed aide.
7. Nowadays, it’s hard to know what to believe. The Twitter handle of Redeemed Christian Church of God, has just denied endorsing Osinbajo as running mate of Buhari, but according to Sahara Reporters, “the presidential candidate of the All progressive Congress called the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, yesterday to seek his blessings, a few minutes after he made his final decision to announce Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
