It was all groove and pure ‘Owambe’ vibes on the last episode of the Trophy Extra Special Band Season 2; the eight outstanding bands gave their best renditions of the Fuji music genre to retain their place in the first live band competition in Nigeria.

After the hosts revealed that two bands would be eliminated on this episode, viewers were left at the edges of their seats to see the six bands that would wow the judges enough to remain in the competition and move a step closer to the grand prize of N10 million and a brand-new set of musical instruments.

To contend for their places in the quarterfinals, The Benedictz went against Flash Band, who put an audacious Fuji twist on Olamide’s ‘Durosoke’. The night’s biggest surprise, however, saw all-girl band Genial Sounds edge Alian Tribe to secure a spot in the next round.

It was a nail-biting finish to this episode of Trophy Extra Special Band Season 2; the judges still had to select two bands amongst Flash Band, Tritunez, Alian Tribe, and Update Vibes that will be leaving the competition. After a tough deliberation, the Flash Band and Tritunez were eliminated, while Alian Tribe and Update Vibes progressed to the quarterfinals.
