The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State has accused Governor Ayodele Fayose of 5 offences.
The state APC Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatubosun, released a statement on Thursday, June 18, making some allegations against Fayose.
They are;
1. Fayose was accused of paying himself N720 million arrears for his first unfinished term when he was impeached as Governor.
2. The APC accused Fayose of refusing to pay the statutory pensions benefit of about N5,000 to Ekiti elders.
3. Fayose’s government was accused of cancelling the N5,000 social security scheme paid to 20,000 elderly Ekiti people by former Governor Kayode Fayemi’s administration.
4. APC in Ekiti state also claimed that Fayose, has refused to pay traditional rulers for five months.
5. Lastly, the mouthpiece of the APC in Ekiti, Olatubosun alleged that the 1,000 ghost workers Fayose claimed to have discovered, was nothing but a ploy to sack workers whose termination of appointment letters were already being compiled for mass sack.
Fayose, promptly reacted to the allegations through his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, stating that the claims of the APC were “simply falsehood promoted to the most ridiculous level.”
“Governor Fayose left office on October 16, 2006, eight months to the end of his tenure and Ekiti State has had three governors since then. Does it then make any sense that the same Fayose would come back eight years after to approve payment already made to three governors after him for himself?
“Let’s even assume that the eight months salary is to be paid, is the monthly salary of a governor more than N1m? How then does N1m per month equal N720m in eight months?”
