Buhari says he is aware of Nigeria’s challenges but we disagree

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday said he is well aware of Nigeria’s challenges.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the President said this in his submission at the One Planet Summit in Paris, France.

What Buhari said:

Buhari said his administration is not under illusion of the challenges in the country.

“Having just come out of recession, we are under no illusion of the challenges that we face in Nigeria,” the President said.

He appealed to the international community to support Nigeria’s commitment to reducing the negative effects of climate change.

He said, “Since the adoption of the Paris Agreement, we have been strengthening our national efforts towards the implementation of the Agreement and the Marrakech Call for Action and Nigeria had already ratified the Paris Agreement in May 2017.

“The country’s Nationally Determined Contribution to reduce our emission by 20% by 2020 and 40% by 2030 cannot be attained alone.”

IS BUHARI REALLY AWARE OF NIGERIA’S CHALLENGES?

Considering his silence towards recent agitations by Nigerians, it is normal to disagree that Bhari has no clue the challenges Nigerians face.

Take for example the #EndSARS, the Presidency and the President himself did not respond despite that the campaign trended for days.

The President also recently choose to launch projects in Kano while citizens in Adamawa were being killed by Fulani herdsmen, a menace he has refused to condemn.
