Chadian soldiers have flushed the Boko Haram insurgents out of Malumfatori, the headquarters of Abadam Local Government in Borno.
After two days of fighting between the insurgents and the Chadian troops, the latter were able to recapture the town, which lies near the borders of Chad and Niger.
It is believed that a combination of ground and air forces were utilised in the fierce assault.
It was learnt that the Chadian soldiers moved into the town which was earlier seized by the Boko Haram sect after crossing Lake Chad.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian military reportedly confirmed that the town had indeed been recaptured, but however, said that the operation was carried out by soldiers from the Multinational Task involved in the joint operation against the insurgents.
The Multi-National Joint Task Force is made up of military personnel from Nigeria, Chad and Niger.
